Creative Economy Week has ended
Welcome to Creative Economy Week in Eau Claire!

During Creative Economy Week we’ll shine a spotlight on the strong and growing arts and culture economy in Eau Claire and the Chippewa Valley. We want to recognize the efforts and importance of the creative class workers that add to the quality of life we enjoy in Eau Claire.

The creative economy is a powerful engine of growth and community vitality. Together, artists, cultural nonprofits, and creative businesses produce and distribute cultural goods and services that generate jobs, revenue, and quality of life. A thriving cultural sector leads to thriving communities. The arts and culture sector in the U.S. is a $699 billion industry, providing 4.3 percent of the nation’s GDP. This impact drives economic development on the national, state, regional, and local level.

Saturday, May 13

3:00pm CDT

State of our Creative Economy
Kick-off Wisconsin's Creative Economy Week and celebrate the flourishing local creative scene in the Chippewa Valley with an afternoon of conversation and drinks! We'll also be wrapping up Wisconsin's Economic Development Week!

Representatives from different creative perspectives in the region will reflect on where we’ve been, where we’re going, and how the community can continue to promote and advance our creative economy. We'll also discuss how the creative economy can be a powerful economic development tool. The discussion will be followed by an opportunity to mingle and rub shoulders with your favorite local thought-leaders.

This event is FREE and open to all!

A Clear Water Comedy Favorite:

Emma Arnold!!!!

Emma Arnold is a comedian, author, and beekeeper. She tours regularly, and performed in fifty two cities in 2016. A fan favorite on the Dana Gould Hour, Sklar Bro Country (***Emma said on this podcast that Eau Claire is one of her favorite cities to perform in!), and Doug Loves Movies, she once followed a eulogy at the Limestone Comedy Festival, after which, Bobcat Goldthwait told her he’d never seen anyone do what she does. She has taken this as a compliment. Her greatly anticipated book, “Notion Sickness”, will be published in 2017, and her comedy album will be available May 2017 from Rooftop Comedy. When not touring, Emma lives with her six children (yes, six) in Idaho, where she keeps kids and bees with varying degrees of success.

Haley Parvin

It’s not very often that optimism meets soul, but that’s the very formula working on Haley Parvin’s debut release, One Eye Open. On the seven tracks, Parvin maximizes her powerhouse voice, which is young but with a mature ache in all the right places. She warbles, she lilts... Read More →
